Job Title: Special needs teaching assistant
Special needs teaching assistant Axcis have partnered with a very special school in the heart of Wiltshire who are looking for teaching assistants to work full time in their school starting as soon as possible. This school cater to students of both primary and secondary ages and whom are mostly diagnosed with autism, Asperger's or ADHD. The school is located on lovely grounds and an old manor house that has been converted, with then additional buildings in proximity. Working hours are 8:30-3:30 and Monday to Friday and term time only. The school benefit from a long established team and offer an inclusive and welcoming working environment. Whilst previous school experience would be desirable from either another special needs or mainstream school its not essential. What we are most concerned with and looking for, is experience supporting those with special needs. Namely children, but we would certainly consider someone who has supported adults with special needs (not elderly). Experience with autism is essential given that most students are on the spectrum in one way or another. We are looking for people that are patient, have oodles of empathy and see the value in guiding and helping those considered vulnerable in their educational journey. Since work in this school is a long term commitment, we are looking for people that are able to commit and even may think about going permanent should the placement work well. To be considered a DBS on the update service is required, this can be one you already hold, or one can be applied for as part of your application. So if you are wanting to move away from perhaps a care job and do something a bit different, get in touch today.
