Location: Islington Salary: £93.48 upwards per day Start date: ASAP Full time Are you passionate about education and supporting students with diverse needs? A modern and vibrant special needs school in the heart of Islington is currently seeking a dedicated teaching assistant with experience in coping with seizures to join their team. This role offers the opportunity to make a significant difference in the lives of students while working in a lovely and diverse school. Responsibilities: -Supporting Students: Provide one-to-one assistance to students who experience seizures, ensuring their safety and well-being during episodes. -Emergency Response: Possess the ability to recognise the signs of an impending seizure and respond swiftly and appropriately to prevent injury. -Implementing Safety Measures: Ensure that the classroom environment is safe and free of potential hazards that could exacerbate seizures, such as sharp objects or flashing lights. -Building Rapport: Build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues to create a supportive and inclusive school community. Qualifications: -Previous experience working as a teaching assistant or in a similar role, preferably in an educational setting. -Certification in First Aid and CPR is highly desirable. -Knowledge of epilepsy management techniques and seizure first aid protocols. -Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues. -Empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for supporting students with diverse needs.
