Axcis Education currently has a fantastic opportunity available for a confident experienced Teaching Assistant
A Primary School based in Paignton is looking to appoint a qualified Teaching Assistant to work with an ASD pupil. Prior experience of supporting pupils with Behavioural Difficulties is essential, and experience of working with children on the Autistic Spectrum would be advantageous. If you have the patience and empathy to help vulnerable children progress in their education, then this is the perfect Teaching Assistant job for you. For the successful Teaching Assistant, this part time role will commence in January for the Spring term with the potential to extend further.
The successful Teaching Assistant will be expected to support an ASD pupil in Foundation Stage. Due to funding, they require 1:1 support for Monday - Friday 8.30 - 12.30 pm. You will work closely with the class teacher to implement the EHCP and will liaise with the school SENCO on the pupil's development. You will need to have broad experience of working with similar pupils in a mainstream education setting and have the compassion to support and nurture each pupil.
To be considered for this Teaching Assistant post you will:
- Have a minimum of 6 months referenceable experience of supporting SEND pupils in the last 2 years.
- Have an ability to work as part of a team coordinating the care of a pupil (including class teacher, parents and outside agencies.
- Have the ability to implement and contribute to EHCP's.
Successful appointment will be dependant on obtaining an Enhanced DBS check.
You will receive a competitive daily rate ranging from £70-£80 depending on experience and qualifications. You will receive support from a dedicated Axcis consultant, as well as having access to the most up to date training and development courses relating to SEN teaching assistant work. The school has free staff parking and is easily accessible by public transport.
