Secondary SEND Teacher, SEMH, Exeter, Full-time
Axcis Education is working with a new SEND Hub to recruit an experienced, resilient and engaging Secondary SEND Teacher that has experience of working within challenging behaviour, SEMH and ASD.
The school is based in part of a large mainstream school in central Exeter that sits within their own large ground and wooded area. The new secondary Hub will house YR 7 to YR9 pupils who all exhibit difficult behaviours. This school provide a creative & nurturing learning environment, in addition to a range of therapies that support student social development.
The role will be to teach small groups of pupils across general curriculum or focus on Maths, English or Science. Supported by specialist LSA's, you will deliver creative lessons that engage the pupils. The school offer a very flexible environment where there is the opportunity for outside learning and a variety of alternative educational projects.
For this role, it is essential that you have QTS and prior experience in managing challenging behaviour with a compassionate and child centred approach.
This is a temporary to permanent role with a salary of £26,000 to 32,000 per annum.
