Looking for your next challenge in SEND? Axcis have a vacancy for an Autism teacher at a well respected special school in Gloucester. The role is full time five days a week, starts immediately and will run until the end of the summer term.
You will be teaching small classes of up to seven children, some of the children exhibit challenging behaviour and you must remain calm and be able to de escalate stressful situations. Experience with Makaton and/or PECS would be advantageous but not essential for this post.
The school has been described as having a positive and inclusive working ethos. The school has a fantastic support structure and offers excellent resources for all staff that work there. There is excellent potential for progression in this school, with many staff being taken onto permanent contracts after a short period of supply work.
The right candidate will be an inventive and positive teacher who has a proactive attitude and the desire to go above and beyond the call of duty. The school are looking for a primary SEND teacher who is calm, professional and confident teaching within a specialist setting. Those with experience implementing EHC plans will be at an advantage.
