Special Needs Teacher, Wiltshire Axcis Education are looking for a special needs teacher to work in a special school on what would be intitially on a ad-hoc basis with the potential for a long term opportunity. The special school located in Devizes, is a wonderful opportunity for an experience teacher to get involved with a truly dedicated team and diverse student body. We are looking for a teacher that not only is looking for new challenges but also has previous experience with special needs. The school is located on beautiful grounds that really give it an old world feeling and specialise in teaching pupils with communication and interaction difficulties. They pride themselves on building bespoke learning plans for each pupil whilst also giving them the opportunities to do such things like learning outside. A big aim in everything they do here is building children's self confidence and letting them know that they can achieve and still do all the things that they strive for even with their own personal hurdles. When teaching pupils with additional needs, we are looking for teachers that are resilient to difficult situations and more challenging children. As many have speech and language barriers, there will be times when it may be difficult to a lot of feedback or interaction from them during lessons, so you will need to be empathetic and of course patient in your teaching style. The ideal candidate will have; - A relevant teaching qualification with UK qualified teaching status (QTS) - A proven background in working with children with special needs - Good curriculum and subject knowledge in line with their specialism and a proven track record of good attainment - A can do attitude and willingness to help a school or provision in anyway they can - An enhanced DBS certificate on the update service (if you don't have one, we can help you apply for one) - Flexible availability according to a schools needs and be able to work at short notice (if applicable) If you are interested, then please contact Lee Harris at Axcis Education on 0117 373 6127.

This is a temporary position unless otherwise stated.

Please note: The details of this job are correct as of the start of the school closures. We anticipate that there will still be a need to fill this vacancy either on the expected timescale (as many of the schools we work with will remain open to support SEND/Keyworker children) or when schools re-open. We are therefore continuing to accept applications but please bear with us as there may be a delay on the listed start date due to the fact that the situation is continually evolving.
