Experienced BSL teaching assistant needed for 1 - 1 position in primary school in Liverpool. I am currently working with a primary school in Liverpool that requires a TA with BSL skills to support a child in Year 2 with a hearing impairment. The child has some skills signing so as well as communicating with the child using BSL, you will also be required to enhance the child's BSL skills. The role is to commence immediately and will continue until the end of the academic year. The child will require support during literacy, numeracy and all other subjects. Some playground supervision may also be required at times. Supporting the child on a 1-1 basis will be the main responsibility, however there will be some occasions when small group intervention and nurture group work will be required. You will be working closely with the class teacher and a full time TA based in the classroom. This role is full time, Monday-Friday 8.45-3.30pm with an immediate start. You must have experience of working with children and be able to provide an education reference. This is a temporary position. If you are interested, then please contact Charlotte Holmes at Axcis Education on 0151 448 2810. Axcis is an equal opportunities employer. The company is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All staff will be subject to our stringent vetting procedures, which include an enhanced DBS, full work history, references and a face-to-face interview.

This is a temporary position unless otherwise stated.

Please note: The details of this job are correct as of the start of the school closures. We anticipate that there will still be a need to fill this vacancy either on the expected timescale (as many of the schools we work with will remain open to support SEND/Keyworker children) or when schools re-open. We are therefore continuing to accept applications but please bear with us as there may be a delay on the listed start date due to the fact that the situation is continually evolving.
