About the Role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with complex needs. Your responsibilities will include:
• Providing individual and small-group support to enhance academic progress and emotional wellbeing
• Working closely with teachers, therapists, and multi-disciplinary teams to deliver personalised interventions
• Encouraging independence, confidence, and positive behaviour
• Assisting with personal care, mobility, and communication needs when required
• Creating a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment
• Supporting students in developing essential life and social skills
Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who demonstrates:
• A genuine passion for supporting young people with SEN
• Experience working with students with complex needs (education or care backgrounds welcome)
• Patience, empathy, resilience, and a nurturing approach
• Strong communication skills and the ability to form positive relationships with students, staff, and families
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare
• Relevant qualifications such as Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant or equivalent are highly desirable
