Job Title: 1:1 Teaching Assistant
Location: Manchester, M23
Contract: Full-Time, ASAP
Salary: Up to £104 per day (dependent on experience)
About the Role
A mainstream school in M23 is seeking a compassionate, patient and skilled 1:1 teaching assistant to support a KS2 pupil with ASC who is pre-verbal.
You will work closely with the class teacher, SENDCo, and wider staff team to provide consistent, personalised support that helps the pupil access learning, develop communication skills and engage positively in the school day.
Desired Knowledge & Skills
-Experience or familiarity with any of the following is highly advantageous:
Basic BSL (British Sign Language)
PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System)
Makaton
Essential Requirements
-Relevant experience in EYFS or primary settings
-Experience supporting children with SEND, ideally ASC
-A nurturing, calm and adaptable approach
-Strong communication and teamwork skills
-Ability to build a positive, trusting relationship with the pupil
