Job Title: Assisstant Head/SENCO
Are you an experienced SEND professional ready to step into a leadership role? An all-through special school in Carshalton (SM5) is seeking a dedicated Assistant Head/SENCo to join their team and support pupils with autism (ASD) and severe learning disabilities (SLD), as well as those with significant social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs. About the Role: This full-time temporary position offers an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children and young people with additional needs. The role is long term, with the potential for a permanent position within the Senior Leadership Team from September 2025. Key Responsibilities: Assisting the Head of School with the day-to-day management of the campus. Playing a key role as part of the Senior Leadership Team, embedding the school’s vision and values into daily practice. Taking on SENCo responsibilities, ensuring tailored and effective support for pupils with complex needs. Collaborating with staff teams to create an inclusive and engaging learning environment. Key Requirements: Experience in a SEND setting, particularly working with pupils with autism and severe learning disabilities. Proven leadership skills and experience contributing to strategic and operational school management. Comprehensive understanding of SENCo duties, including current legislation and best practices.
