Graduate Mental Health Support Worker
Location: Taunton, TA2
Start Date: December 2nd
Hours: Part-time, 8:30 am - 3:30 pm, Monday to Friday
Contract: Temporary with a view to becoming permanent
Axcis has partnered with an Academy that work with students ages 11-18 and is a mainstream school with specialised resources for those with Special Educational Needs (SEN). It includes a resource hub for students with autism, where programs span arts, community engagement and tailored academic support to encourage personal growth. Join our inclusive academy, committed to encouraging growth and support for all students in a nurturing, community-focused environment.
Requirements:
• Prior experience with children with ASD or SEND is highly desirable.
• Patient, reliable, adaptable, with a caring, supportive attitude.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with school staff.
• Skilled at managing and supporting students with challenging behaviour calmly and positively.
Ideal Candidate:
We welcome candidates with backgrounds in:
• Nurseries, colleges, youth clubs, residential care, or personal experience (SEND)
• Graduates in sociology, psychology, sports, music, art, or drama
Additional Information:
• Hours: 8:30 am – 3:00 pm
• Full-time and part-time options available
• Pay: £83.40 per day, based on experience
• Initially temporary, with potential for permanence
