Job Title: Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) – PRUs & Alternative Provisions
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our agency for upcoming opportunities within Pupil Referral Units (PRUs) and Alternative Provisions (APs) in South West London. This is a temporary position, working Monday to Friday, 08:30-16:30, during term time only with competitive daily pay rates from £83 a day. As an HLTA in PRUs and APs, you will play a vital role in supporting students aged 8-18 who have additional needs, behavioural challenges, or require alternative educational pathways. You will work closely with teachers and support staff to create a structured and nurturing environment, helping students to develop academically, socially, and emotionally. Your responsibilities will include assisting with lesson delivery, implementing behaviour management strategies, and providing tailored support to individual students. Additionally, you must be comfortable with providing personal care where necessary. Requirements: To be considered for this role, you must have the following: • HLTA qualification (or extensive relevant experience) • Experience working in UK schools or care settings • Knowledge and experience of working with students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), particularly those with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs • A valid enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one) • Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to foster positive relationships with students • A patient, resilient, and proactive approach to supporting students with complex needs This role offers an excellent opportunity for those passionate about working in alternative education settings, where you can make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people who require additional support.
