Are you a caring and dedicated Learning Support Assistant looking for a rewarding role supporting young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)?
Axcis Education is recruiting a Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a friendly, well-established specialist college in Bromley, South London. This is a fantastic opportunity to support post-16 students with a range of additional needs, including Autism (ASD), ADHD, physical disabilities, complex learning difficulties, and communication needs.
As a Learning Support Assistant, you'll play an important role in helping students develop independence, confidence, employability skills, and academic success within a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will:
• Provide high-quality 1:1 and small group support for students with SEND.
• Assist learners during classroom lessons, practical activities, and vocational training.
• Support creative subjects such as art, drama, cooking, life skills, and community-based learning.
• Encourage independence, social interaction, confidence, and emotional wellbeing.
• Help students with communication, behaviour regulation, and classroom engagement.
• Promote a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment.
• Provide personal care where required, ensuring dignity, respect, and safeguarding at all times.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and support staff to achieve individual learning outcomes.
About You
We're looking for someone who has:
• Experience working with children or young adults with SEND, including Autism (ASD), ADHD, SEMH, physical disabilities, or complex learning needs.
• Previous experience as a Learning Support Assistant, Teaching Assistant, Support Worker, Care Assistant, Healthcare Assistant, or within an education or care setting.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A patient, compassionate, and flexible approach.
• The ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Confidence supporting personal care and promoting independent living skills.
• A genuine passion for helping young people reach their full potential.
