Learning Support Assistant – Autism Provision
Location: EN4, Barnet
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Full-Time, Term Time Only
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
A supportive secondary school in EN4 is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join its Autism Resource Provision, supporting a student with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Global Developmental Delay (GDD).
This is an excellent opportunity for a caring and enthusiastic individual who is passionate about helping young people develop academically, socially and emotionally in a structured and nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Provide personalised support within the Autism Provision and mainstream lessons where appropriate.
Adapt learning activities to meet individual learning needs.
Support communication, independence and life skills.
Deliver targeted interventions under the guidance of teachers and specialist staff.
Encourage positive peer interaction and emotional wellbeing.
Monitor progress against EHCP outcomes and contribute to review meetings.
The Successful Candidate Will Have
Experience supporting students with ASD and/or Global Developmental Delay.
A patient, nurturing and flexible approach.
Good understanding of differentiated learning and inclusive education.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience supporting speech and language programmes or sensory regulation strategies would be beneficial.
