Job Title: Learning Support Worker
Axcis Education are proud to be recruiting exclusively alongside a large college in Stroud who are looking for two full-time Learning Support worker positions in different departments on a full-time long-term basis starting in January 2025. This well respected and recently rated outstanding college is constantly evolving with new departments forming year on year specific to learners needs – most recently two specialist departments for students with higher support needs – one catered to those with higher physical needs and the other created to support students with social, emotional, and mental health needs. The hours for both roles are Monday to Friday 08.30-4.30 and with both to start w/c 6th January 2025, are to continue until the end of the academic year for the right candidates. About the Role: As a Learning Support Worker in these specialist departments you will: • Provide tailored 1:1 and small group support to learners across different classrooms dependant on needs of learners. • Work within an adapted space that includes a therapy room, sensory room, and bespoke outdoor provision as well as going out in the community on trips / projects. • Help develop skills across the students individual curriculum, including Independence, Communication, Social and Emotional development, Sensory and Physical, and Cognition. The Ideal Candidate: We are looking for someone who: • Has experience supporting young adults with Autism, Complex needs, or other SEND. • Is enthusiastic about helping children develop their independence, communication, and social skills. • Can create a nurturing and inclusive environment tailored to each child’s unique needs and interests. • Is adaptable, patient, and passionate about working with teenagers and young adults with SEND needs and disabilities. • Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning) are desirable but not essential.
