Are you an experienced TA in Autism? Axcis want to hear from you! Axcis have a vacancy for a teaching assistant at a well respected specialist school in Wellington working 1-1 with a secondary aged child with Autism, aged 15.
Rated 'Outstanding' by Ofsted, this fantastic specialist school uses a range of innovative teaching methods to help their students make the most of their educational experience. The school is small but well resourced and has a fantastic atmosphere upon entering the grounds. Situated in the centre of Cirencester and with excellent links to public transport the school is easily accessible.
The role starts in January and is five days a week, full time and will potentially be till the end of the academic year. The position is general in-class support - you will need to have previous experience of working with children with autism. Routines are important to the child and they have very limited language and they communicate using Makaton. You will be expected to do some personal care.
If you are a caring, friendly and patient individual then this could be just the kind of role you're looking for. The ideal candidate will be an experienced SEND teaching assistant who has worked with children with autism before in a special needs environment.
