This is a part-time, term-time role, working Monday to Friday from 11:30am to 1:00pm, making it a great opportunity for someone looking for consistent school-based hours. Lunchtime is an important part of the school day, and the successful candidate will play a key role in helping pupils feel safe, supported and included during both dining hall and playground time. The school is located just a short 5-minute walk from the DLR, making it easily accessible by public transport. Parking is limited, so this role would particularly suit someone local or happy to travel by train or DLR. About the Role As a Midday Meal Supervisor, you will support pupils during the lunchtime period, helping to create a calm, positive and well-supervised environment. You will be working across the dinner hall, playground and wider lunchtime areas, supporting both SEND and non-SEND pupils. You will: • Supervise pupils in the dining hall and playground during lunchtime • Encourage positive behaviour, safe play and respectful interaction • Support children with lunchtime routines, transitions and general organisation • Interact with pupils with and without additional needs in a calm and supportive way • Assist with general lunchtime duties as part of the wider school team • Report any incidents, concerns or safeguarding matters to senior staff • Help maintain a safe, structured and enjoyable lunchtime environment What We’re Looking For • Previous school experience is essential • Experience supporting children during lunch, break times or playground supervision • A calm, friendly and confident approach with pupils • Good behaviour management and communication skills • Reliability and punctuality, Monday to Friday • A positive, proactive attitude and willingness to support where needed • Good awareness of safeguarding and pupil wellbeing This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with school experience who is looking for a reliable part-time role from September.
