Job Title: Primary Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant
Axcis Education in the West Midlands are seeking a full-time, long-term Teaching Assistant to support students with a range of special educational needs within a mainstream primary school. This school is based in Hall Green, Birmingham. Position: Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant Location: Hall Green, Birmingham Start Date: Feb 2025 Contract: Full-time, long-term (Monday to Friday, 8:30 – 3:30) This role pays a week in arrears (every Friday) and you will be paid via PAYE on a daily rate starting from £83.40 per day based on suitable experience and qualifications. Axcis are looking for a compassionate and resilient individual to work closely with students who have a range of special educational needs. Key Responsibilities: • Supporting students with a range of special educational needs, such as autism, challenging behaviour, personal care and ADHD helping them to manage their emotions and behaviour. • Assisting the class teacher in creating a safe and structured learning environment. • Providing 1:1 or small group support to students with special educational needs. • Building strong, trusting relationships with students to help them feel safe and understood Requirements: • Experience working alongside children with special educational needs. • Patience, empathy, and resilience when dealing with difficult situations. • Strong communication and teamwork skills. • Relevant qualifications in education or child development are highly desirable. • A passion for helping vulnerable children reach their potential.
