Job Title: Primary Teaching Assistant
Axcis Education is currently supporting a mainstream village primary school near Tortworth, South Gloucestershire. The welcoming school provides an excellent learning environment designed specifically to meet the needs of all its learners. This is a small school with a strong sense of team, comprising of 6 small classes of learners; it is of utmost importance that collaboration with colleagues and strong communication is held as a priority to ensure that the learners develop in all areas of life. The children attending this school have very individual and profound needs within their Autism and ADHD diagnoses and can display challenging behaviour in certain situations and therefore the school does require a teaching assistant who is well experienced in supporting the above needs. Job Details • Whole class support but working on a 1:1 or small group basis • Working independently and as part of a team • Full time hours (8:30am – 3:30pm, Monday to Friday) • Ongoing basis for the remainder of 2024/25 academic year and to return in September 2025 • Start date - ASAP Requirements: • Experience in working on a one to one and/or small group basis – Essential • Experience of working with pupils who are autistic– Essential • Experience of supporting needs such as ADHD and children who can display challenging behaviour– Essential • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service required or we’re happy to carry out a new one ahead of you starting the position – Essential • Minimum of 2 good references – Essential Due to the rural location of the school, you will need access to your own vehicle and there is a large staff car park on site.
