SEN Teaching Assistant / Therapeutic Support Assistant Location: Central Bath Pay: £14.25 per hour Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm, 4 days per week Start Date: 1st September 2026 Are you a Psychology or Criminology graduate looking to gain hands-on experience before a career in Educational Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Mental Health, Social Work or Youth Justice? This is an excellent graduate opportunity to support young people with autism, learning disabilities and additional needs within a specialist college in central Bath. Working alongside teachers and therapists, you'll gain practical experience while making a real difference every day. About the Role As a SEN Teaching Assistant / Therapeutic Support Assistant, you'll support young people in the classroom and around the college, helping them to engage with learning, develop independence and build confidence. You'll use calm, consistent and person-centred approaches to help students regulate emotions, develop communication skills and achieve their individual goals. Who You'll Support You'll work with young people with: • Autism (ASC) • Learning disabilities • Communication and sensory needs • Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH) • Anxiety and emotional regulation difficulties What You'll Do • Support students in lessons and around the college • Build positive, trusting relationships • Encourage independence and confidence • Help students manage emotions and daily routines • Use autism-informed and trauma-informed approaches • Work closely with teachers, therapists and support staff • Promote wellbeing, inclusion and safeguarding Why This Role Is Ideal for Psychology and Criminology Graduates Your degree has given you an understanding of behaviour, mental health, communication and human development.
