Job Description
Are you a recent Science graduate looking to gain classroom experience before pursuing teacher training? Axcis Education is working with a forward-thinking secondary school seeking a confident and motivated Science Graduate Cover Supervisor to join their team from September 2025.
This is a fantastic opportunity to step into education, delivering pre-set work in Biology, Chemistry and Physics lessons across KS3 and KS4. You’ll be leading classes, maintaining behaviour standards, and supporting students with their learning — no teaching qualification required.
Key Responsibilities
#Supervise science classes in the absence of teachers
#Deliver pre-planned lessons in Biology, Chemistry and Physics
#Manage classroom behaviour and ensure a safe, productive learning environment
#Support students with tasks and reinforce key science concepts
#Develop confidence leading a class and engaging students
Ideal Candidate
#A recent Science graduate (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or related field)
#Strong interest in education or teaching
#Confident communicator with a professional classroom presence
#Adaptable, reliable and resilient
#Experience working with young people (e.g. tutoring, mentoring, youth work) is desirable
#Keen to gain school-based experience before teacher training
#Must have a valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one
