Job Title: Secondary School Teaching Assistant
Axcis Education has an excellent opportunity available for a teaching assistant in the St Helens, WA9, area. Working in a large mainstream secondary school, the role would involve supporting students across KS3 and KS4, who have Special Educational Needs and requirements, who need that bit of extra help within a classroom environment. This is a full time role working from 8:30am – 3:30pm, Monday to Friday. The pay rate for this role starts from £12- £14 per hour, based on experience, and the school are looking to offer a permanent role to the right candidate. As a teaching assistant, you will be expected to work 1:1 to help with daily activities and routines, liaise with their class teachers and support their academic studies, behaviour and SEMH. This role will support children within their classroom environment within a mainstream secondary school. This is a fantastic and rewarding opportunity to help support pupils who need extra guidance. Whilst previous experience working with children is beneficial, the desire to make a difference to these students’ lives is invaluable. We are looking for candidates with experience from a range of backgrounds including education, youth work or the care sector. Applicants must be proactive, confident and be able to follow procedures put in place to de-escalate different situations. You will be expected to promote positive behaviour and encourage pupils to manage their emotions and friendships.
