SEMH Support Worker – Secondary
Location: Bath, BA1
Hours: 8:30am–3:30pm, Monday to Friday
Pay: £14.25 per hour
Working pattern: Full-time and part-time opportunities
Could you be the consistent adult who helps a young person have a better day at school?
A secondary school in Bath is looking for a SEMH Support Worker to help pupils who may experience difficulties with emotional regulation, confidence, attendance, behaviour or engagement with education.
The role is particularly suited to someone who is calm, resilient and able to build trusting relationships with teenagers.
Responsibilities
• Providing 1:1 and small-group support
• Helping pupils regulate emotions and manage difficult situations
• Encouraging positive engagement with school
• Supporting pupils with behaviour and routines
• Building positive, professional relationships
• Working alongside teachers, pastoral staff and SEN professionals
Experience that could be relevant
You may have worked in:
• Education
• Youth work
• Residential care
• Mental health support
• Sports coaching
• Community support
• Children's services
Formal SEMH experience is desirable but not essential.
