SEMH Teaching Assistant – KS2 Trauma-Informed Support – Napton
Location: Napton, Warwickshire
Contract Type: Full-time
Salary: £89 – £105 per day / £445 – £525 per week
We are working with a welcoming and supportive primary school in Napton to recruit a full-time SEMH Teaching Assistant to support a Key Stage 2 pupil with social, emotional, and behavioural needs. The role focuses on providing trauma-informed care and consistent emotional support to help the child feel safe, regulated, and engaged in learning.

The Role:
You will:
• Provide 1:1 support for a KS2 pupil with SEMH needs, including emotional dysregulation and low self-esteem.
• Build a strong, trusting relationship using consistent routines and a safe, calm approach.
• Use trauma-informed strategies, low-arousal techniques, and restorative language.
• Support access to learning both in class and through targeted interventions.
• Liaise closely with teaching staff, the SENCO, and external agencies to ensure joined-up support.

About You:
• Experience supporting children with SEMH, trauma, or attachment difficulties.
• Emotionally resilient, compassionate, and able to maintain firm but fair boundaries.
• Confident in using strategies to support self-regulation and reduce anxiety triggers.
• Able to build strong relationships with students who may find school a challenge.
• Comfortable working flexibly across academic, social, and behavioural support.
