Location: Specialist Primary SEMH School, Slough
Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:30am–4:00pm
Pay: From £89 per day (PAYE)
Contract: Term-time only / Ongoing
We are recruiting a resilient and nurturing SEMH Teaching Assistant to work at a specialist school in Slough supporting primary-aged children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about supporting children with complex behavioural needs and who thrives in a hands-on, active environment.
The Role:
Supporting pupils with SEMH needs throughout the school day
Assisting with behaviour regulation and emotional support
Using positive behaviour management strategies consistently
Supporting learning both inside and outside the classroom
Working closely with teachers and support staff to maintain a calm, structured environment
Being physically active and on your feet for much of the day
Requirements:
Experience working with children with SEMH and challenging behaviour
Strong behaviour management skills
A calm, patient and nurturing approach
Ability to remain resilient in challenging situations
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, active setting
Previous school-based experience is highly desirable
