Job Title: SEND Learning Support Assistant
We are currently recruiting for a caring and committed SEND Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Reading from September 2026. This is a full-time position working Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 3:30pm, supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities within the classroom environment.
The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and the wider SEND team to provide tailored support that enables pupils to access learning, build confidence and develop socially and emotionally throughout the school day. You will be supporting children with a range of additional needs and must be able to adapt your approach to meet individual learning and behavioural requirements.
Previous experience working with children with SEND is highly desirable, and the ideal candidate will be patient, nurturing and resilient, with strong communication and behaviour management skills. The role will involve providing personal care where required, so applicants must be comfortable supporting pupils with personal care needs in a respectful and compassionate manner.
This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about making a positive difference in children’s lives and contributing to a supportive and inclusive school environment.
