We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced SEND Lecturer to join our dynamic team. This is a long-term opportunity to empower students by equipping them with skills for independent living and fostering their personal growth. As a SEND Lecturer, you will: •Plan, deliver, and assess engaging lessons tailored to SEND learners, focusing on skills for independent living. •Incorporate practical, hands-on teaching methods that inspire and motivate learners. •Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the best outcomes for students. •Support students with varying needs, including ASD, SEMH, ADHD, and other SEND profiles. •Create a safe and inclusive learning environment where every student can thrive. Key Responsibilities: •Deliver courses up to Level 5 Independent Living standards. •Integrate life skills, such as cooking, hygiene, budgeting, and more, into the curriculum (experience in cooking is a strong bonus). •Provide pastoral care and guidance to support student well-being and academic success. •Continuously assess learner progress and adapt teaching strategies to meet individual needs. •Keep accurate records of student progress and collaborate with parents/carers as needed. Essential Qualifications and Experience: •Level 5 qualification in Independent Living or equivalent. •Proven experience working with SEND students in an educational setting. •Strong understanding of SEND profiles, including strategies to manage challenging behaviours. •Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Desirable Skills: •Practical experience in teaching or applying cooking skills. •Previous experience in a college setting. •Knowledge of assistive technologies and inclusive teaching practices.
