Axcis Education is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Post-16 SEND Teacher to join a specialist SEND school in Stratford-upon-Avon. This rewarding opportunity involves teaching and supporting young people aged 16-19 with a range of additional needs, including Autism (ASC), Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), SEMH needs, and associated communication difficulties.
As a Post-16 SEND Teacher, you will play a vital role in preparing students for adulthood, helping them develop academic, vocational, social, and life skills that will support their future independence. The school provides a nurturing, inclusive, and student-centred environment where young people are encouraged to achieve their goals and reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities
• Plan, deliver, and assess engaging lessons tailored to the individual needs of post-16 learners with SEND.
• Differentiate learning activities to meet a wide range of abilities and learning styles.
• Support students in developing independence, employability, communication, and life skills.
• Create and maintain a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment.
• Monitor student progress and adapt teaching strategies accordingly.
• Work towards EHCP outcomes and contribute to annual reviews.
• Collaborate with teaching assistants, therapists, parents, and external professionals.
• Promote positive behaviour through effective classroom management strategies.
• Support students with transition planning, work-related learning, and preparation for adulthood.
• Maintain accurate records, assessments, and reports in line with school requirements.
Requirements
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), QTLS, or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• Experience teaching students with SEND, ideally within a specialist school, SEND provision, or alternative setting.
• Strong understanding of Autism, learning difficulties, communication needs, and/or SEMH.
• Experience planning and delivering differentiated lessons.
• Excellent communication, organisational, and relationship-building skills.
• A patient, resilient, and adaptable approach.
• Knowledge of EHCPs and person-centred planning.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
