Job Title: SEND Teacher
Are you a passionate and dedicated SEND Teacher looking for a new opportunity? Axcis Education are recruiting on behalf of a specialist SEND school, who are searching for a teacher to join their team in September 2024. This would be a full time position, working Monday to Friday, until Christmas in the first instance. The role is based in a large specialist setting in Leeds. The school caters for students aged 2-11 with a range of needs including; Autism, PMLD, SLD, complex medical needs, sensory impairments and physical disabilities. The successful applicant would be provided the flexibility to work in the class that best suits their skill set. There are excellent facilities onsite, including a wide range of sensory rooms, hydrotherapy and lots of outdoor space for pupils to utilise. Key Responsibilities: Plan, prepare, and deliver individualised lessons and learning activities in accordance with each student's Education, Health and Care Plan Provide tailored support and instruction to students with a range of SEN, including but not limited to ASC, PMLD, SEMH, Complex Needs, and other associated conditions Implement evidence-based interventions and behaviour management techniques to support students’ academic and social-emotional development. Collaborate with the SENCO, support staff, and classroom teachers to ensure a cohesive and inclusive learning environment Foster a nurturing and supportive classroom atmosphere that promotes engagement, independence, and self-confidence. The ideal candidate will have: Qualified Teacher Status or equivalent teaching qualification. Experience in supporting students with SEND particularly ASC,PMLD, and other specified needs Up to date Team Teach Training The ability to differentiate instruction and adapt teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities. Excellent communication skills A positive and empathetic approach to supporting students with SEND, promoting their well-being and inclusion within the school community.
