Job Advert: SEND Teacher (Maternity Cover) – Upper KS2 (Years 4, 5 & 6) Location: Greenford, London Contract: Full-time, Maternity Cover (likely for one year) Hours: 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM, Monday to Friday Start Date: January 2024 Interview: ASAP Axcis Education is seeking an experienced and dedicated SEND Teacher to join a highly regarded mainstream primary school in Greenford on a maternity cover basis. You will be responsible for teaching a small, nurturing class of up to 15 children in Years 4, 5, and 6 within the school’s Upper KS2 ARP (Additionally Resourced Provision) unit. The Primary school prides itself on its strong community ethos and inclusive approach. The ARP unit is designed to support children with additional learning needs, providing a well-resourced and supportive environment for both staff and pupils. With a dynamic and experienced team, this school offers a great setting for enthusiastic teachers who are passionate about SEN education. Key Responsibilities: -Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons for children with additional needs in Upper KS2 (Years 4, 5, and 6). -Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment. -Collaborate with support staff and external professionals to provide tailored support for each pupil. -Monitor and assess pupil progress, ensuring individual learning objectives are met. -Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and the wider school community. Requirements: -Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential. -Experience teaching in an ARP, SEN, or similar setting is preferred. -Good knowledge of the Upper KS2 curriculum (Years 4-6). -Strong understanding of differentiation for children with additional learning needs. -Enhanced DBS on the Update Service is required.
