Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 am–3:30 pm
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teacher to join our supportive and inclusive school located in the heart of Wandsworth, London. As an SEND Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in providing a nurturing learning environment for students with a range of special educational needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, deliver and assess individualised lessons that cater to the needs and abilities of each student.
- Create a supportive and accessible classroom environment that enables all students to reach their full potential.
- Collaborate with support staff, parents, and external agencies to develop personalized learning plans.
- Utilize a range of teaching methods and resources, including assistive technologies, to engage and inspire students with SEND.
- Monitor and record student progress, adapting teaching strategies to meet diverse learning needs.
- Participate in school-wide training and professional development opportunities focused on SEN best practices.
Essential Qualifications and Skills:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent with experience in SEN settings.
- Knowledge of the current SEN Code of Practice and a commitment to inclusive education principles.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with staff, students, and parents.
- A caring and patient approach with the aptitude to manage challenging behavior positively.
