Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant -Part-time
Axcis Education is looking for reliable and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistants to provide part-time, ad-hoc support within a welcoming primary school in Rugby. This flexible opportunity is ideal for candidates seeking work that fits around other commitments while gaining valuable experience supporting children with additional needs.
Working on a supply basis, you will be required to cover staff absences, sickness, training days, and increased staffing requirements as needed throughout the academic year.
This role is particularly suited to individuals with experience supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, and additional learning or behavioural needs.
About the Role
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will support pupils within both the school's specialist SEND provision and mainstream classrooms, helping them access learning and engage positively throughout the school day.
Location: Rugby
Hours: Flexible, ad-hoc assignments between 8:30am and 4:00pm
Start Date: September
Pay Rate: £92.63 per day
Key Responsibilities
• Provide classroom support when covering staff absences and additional staffing needs
• Support children with SEND, including ASC, SEMH, and behavioural needs
• Deliver 1:1 and small-group interventions where required
• Assist pupils in meeting individual learning and EHCP targets
• Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies
• Encourage confidence, independence, and engagement in learning
• Build positive relationships with pupils and school staff
• Adapt to different classrooms, year groups, and support requirements
• Assist with personal care where necessary
• Help maintain a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment

• A patient, flexible, and adaptable approach
• Confidence working with different pupils and support needs at short notice
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one
• Availability to accept ad-hoc assignments during school hours
