SEND TA – Physical Disabilities | Barking & Dagenham | From £90/day | Primary | Barking & Dagenham | September Start | Full-Time | Long-Term
We are supporting a welcoming primary school in Barking & Dagenham that’s seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to work with pupils who have physical disabilities. The school is known for its inclusive ethos, specialist equipment and strong collaboration with health professionals and families. Ofsted describes it as a school where "every child is seen, supported and celebrated". With free parking and excellent bus and Tube access, it’s easily reached from across East London and Essex.
In this role, you will be:
• Supporting students with physical disabilities, including mobility, fine motor skills, and access to learning.
• Assisting with personal care, moving and handling (full training provided).
• Promoting independence and active participation in classroom activities.
• Using visual aids, adapted resources, and specialist tools to remove barriers to learning.
• Working alongside the SENDCo, physio/OTs and class teacher to follow personalised support plans.
What we’re looking for:
• Experience working with physical disabilities or in a care setting (e.g. manual handling, hoist use, personal care).
• Compassionate, hands-on and adaptable.
• Confident working 1:1 or in small group settings.
• A team player with a calm, patient and supportive nature.
