SEND Teaching Assistant (Primary) | From £89/day | Tower Hamlets | ASAP Start | Full Time | Long-Term Axcis are seeking an experienced and dedicated Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant primary special school in Tower Hamlets. This long-term, full-time role is to start ASAP and is ideal for someone with a passion for supporting pupils with diverse learning needs. The school is a joyful, community-focused provision that celebrates every child’s individuality. Staff pride themselves on creating a safe and stimulating environment, where children with a range of additional needs — including autism and communication difficulties — can thrive both academically and socially. Class sizes are small, teamwork is strong, and the leadership team is known for genuinely valuing its support staff. Whether it's sensory play, communication development or themed learning weeks, there’s always something engaging happening on site. The school is just a short walk from excellent transport links and offers free onsite parking. In this role, you will: - Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with a range of SEN, including autism, ADHD and speech & language difficulties. - Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored, differentiated lessons that meet individual learning needs. - Promote inclusion and positive behaviour through effective communication, emotional regulation strategies, and consistent boundaries. - Support pupils with personal care tasks when required, ensuring dignity and safeguarding at all times. - Track pupil progress and contribute to EHCP reviews by recording observations, behaviours and interventions. What we’re looking for: - Previous experience working with children or young people with SEND, particularly ASD, ADHD, or speech and language needs. - A background in schools, specialist settings or alternative provisions. - Confidence supporting pupils 1:1 and in small groups. - (Bonus) Experience with PECS, Makaton, personal care or de-escalation strategies is highly desirable. If you're a committed SEND TA looking for your next challenge in a supportive and engaging school environment, we’d love to hear from you.
