Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant
SEND Teaching Assistant – Autism & Complex Needs – Special School – Barking Riverside

Axcis are proud to be working with a well-established special school in Barking who are seeking a compassionate and experienced SEND Teaching Assistant to support pupils with autism and complex learning needs. The school provides a calm, structured and highly supportive environment, with a strong focus on communication, sensory regulation and personalised learning. The school is based on a modern site, well connected by public transport, with parking available nearby.
In this role, you will be:
• Supporting pupils with autism and additional needs such as sensory processing difficulties and communication challenges.
• Working closely with teachers to deliver highly differentiated, individualised learning activities.
• Using visual supports, structured routines and sensory strategies to support engagement and regulation.
• Assisting pupils with transitions, personal development and daily routines where required.
• Working collaboratively with therapists, teachers and support staff to meet EHCP outcomes.

• Experience working in a special school or supporting pupils with complex SEND.
• A calm, patient and nurturing approach to learning support.
• Confidence supporting sensory needs and communication-based learning.
• Strong teamwork skills and commitment to long-term, consistent support.
