Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant
Full-Time Teaching Assistant – Specialist SEND School
Location: St Austell
Full-time | Monday–Friday | 8:30am–3:30pm
£94–£98 per day
Are you a caring and patient Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding role supporting children and young people with SEND?
We are currently recruiting for a full-time Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school near St Austell, supporting pupils with a range of additional and complex learning needs.
The Role
You will work as part of a supportive classroom team, helping pupils to get involved in learning and develop skills that will support them both in and outside of school.
The role will involve:
• Supporting pupils with their daily learning and activities
• Providing individual and small-group support where needed
• Helping pupils develop their communication and social skills
• Encouraging greater confidence and independence
• Supporting pupils with their individual learning and development needs
• Helping pupils engage with practical and creative activities
• Supporting pupils to take part in activities within the wider community
• Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils
• Working closely with teachers and other professionals involved in pupils' support
• Providing a calm and consistent approach throughout the school day
The school takes a very individual approach to supporting pupils, recognising that every child will have different strengths, interests and areas where they need additional help. The aim is to help pupils make progress at their own pace while developing the skills and confidence they need for their future.

Previous experience working with children or young people with SEND is essential. Experience within a specialist school or supporting pupils with complex learning needs would be particularly beneficial.
