Job Title: Supply Teaching Assistant
We are looking for a patient, nurturing and reliable Supply Teaching Assistant to support autistic pupils at a secondary school in Bracknell on an as-and-when-needed basis. This is a great opportunity for someone with previous experience supporting children or young people with SEND who is confident working in a secondary school environment and enjoys helping pupils feel comfortable, included and able to access their learning.
The successful candidate will provide individualised support to autistic pupils, helping them understand and engage with lessons, follow instructions and overcome any barriers they may face in the classroom. You will need to be patient and understanding, with the ability to explain things clearly and adapt your communication style to suit the individual pupil. Building positive relationships is an important part of the role, so a calm, nurturing and encouraging approach is essential.
Previous experience working with SEND, particularly autism, would be highly desirable. You should be confident supporting pupils who may need additional reassurance, repetition or information presented in a different way. The ability to remain calm, flexible and positive throughout the school day is important, as is a genuine desire to help young people develop their confidence and independence.
This is a flexible supply position, working on an as-and-when-needed basis, making it ideal for a Teaching Assistant looking for additional work or someone who values flexibility. The daily rate is £92.63 per day and the role is based at a welcoming secondary school in Bracknell.
