SEND Teacher – Primary – Havering
£180–£240 per day | Full-Time | Long-Term | September Start
Axcis are working with a welcoming and well-resourced primary school in Havering who are seeking a passionate and experienced SEND Teacher to join their team from September. The school supports children with a range of additional needs, including autism, communication difficulties, developmental delay and sensory needs, and has a strong reputation for creating a calm, structured and nurturing learning environment.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a teacher who enjoys working creatively and collaboratively to help pupils make meaningful progress. The school has a supportive leadership team, experienced Teaching Assistants and a clear commitment to inclusive practice. With good local transport links and parking available, it is well placed for teachers travelling from East London, Essex and surrounding areas.
About the Role
You will be teaching a small class of primary-aged pupils with SEND, supported by a team of experienced Teaching Assistants. The role will involve planning and delivering highly differentiated lessons that are practical, engaging and tailored to pupils’ individual learning needs.
You will:
• Plan and deliver creative, accessible lessons for pupils with a range of SEND needs
• Support children with autism, communication needs and sensory processing differences
• Use visual supports, structured routines and practical learning opportunities
• Work closely with Teaching Assistants to ensure consistency across the classroom
• Contribute to EHCP targets, progress tracking and review meetings
• Create a calm, safe and encouraging environment where pupils can build confidence and independence
What We’re Looking For
• QTS / QTLS, or strong teaching experience within SEND
• Experience teaching pupils with autism or complex learning needs
• Strong behaviour management and excellent classroom structure
• Ability to differentiate lessons creatively and effectively
• A calm, patient and reflective teaching style
• Commitment to a full-time, long-term role from September
