We are looking for a committed and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team at a specialist primary SEND school in Bournemouth, supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC). This full-time, temp-to-perm position is available immediately or from September 2025 and offers a fantastic opportunity to work in a school that truly puts pupils’ individual needs at the heart of everything it does. About the School: A small, welcoming school with around 80–100 pupils Primary age range, working exclusively with children with SEMH and ASC Class sizes are capped at 10 pupils, ensuring focused and individualised support You’ll work closely with the class teacher and, in many cases, another Teaching Assistant The school boasts excellent facilities, designed specifically to support the needs of SEND learners The Role: As a Teaching Assistant in our setting, your role will involve: Supporting the emotional, social, and academic development of pupils Assisting in implementing tailored learning and behaviour support plans Helping to create a calm, structured and positive learning environment Encouraging engagement through creative and hands-on activities Supporting pupils’ communication, sensory regulation, and daily routines This is a highly rewarding role that requires patience, empathy and a genuine commitment to helping young people succeed — both in the classroom and beyond.
