Job Title: Teaching Assistant
Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant Location: Salisbury, Wiltshire Hours: 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM Pay: £90 per day PAYE We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join a supportive educational setting in Salisbury, Wiltshire. This is a full-time role where you will play an integral part in the development and support of our students with diverse learning needs. Key Responsibilities: - Provide tailored support to students with a range of special educational needs. - Collaborate with classroom teachers to implement individual learning plans and ensure all students can access the curriculum. - Assist in the development of social skills and independence among students within the classroom and other educational settings. - Implement behaviour management strategies and contribute to creating a safe and inclusive learning environment. - Facilitate small group sessions and one-to-one support, focusing on literacy, numeracy, and other key skills. - Adapt resources and teaching methods to meet the diverse and individual needs of students. - Assist in monitoring student progress by providing input for evaluation sessions and reports. - Encourage positive pupil engagement in all learning activities. - Contribute to maintaining accurate and confidential records of students' development and support provided. - Participate in staff meetings, training and professional development opportunities as relevant to the role. Qualifications & Experience: - Experience working with children with SEND in an educational setting is highly desirable. - Strong understanding of safeguarding practices. - Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with students, teachers, and parents. - Ability to work flexibly, adapting to challenging situations and different learning needs. - A positive and patient approach, with a commitment to helping children achieve their potential. Skills: - Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. - Strong organisational and planning skills. - Capable of working under pressure and dealing with challenging behaviour. - A team player who can work collaboratively with colleagues. - Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism at all times.
