Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant Location: Salisbury, Wiltshire Position: Full-time Pay: £90 a day PAYE Are you passionate about helping children with special educational needs reach their full potential? We are currently looking for a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join a local primary school. As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will have the rewarding opportunity to support a primary-aged student on a 1:1 basis, ensuring they thrive in an inclusive educational environment. Key Responsibilities: - Provide tailored 1:1 support to a primary-aged student with special educational needs, focusing on both their academic and social development. - Collaborate with classroom teachers, SEND coordinators, and other professionals to plan and implement individualised education plans. - Assist in the creation and adaptation of learning materials to suit the specific needs of the student. - Employ a variety of strategies to promote positive behaviour and engagement in learning activities. - Foster a supportive and understanding relationship with the student, offering encouragement and motivation. - Monitor and track the student's progress, providing regular feedback to teachers and parents/guardians. - Participate in relevant training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge related to SEND. - Help with the general duties of the classroom, including setting up and maintaining a safe and organised learning environment. Requirements: - Experience working with children, particularly those with SEND, is highly desirable. - A compassionate, patient, and flexible approach to supporting children with varying needs. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with students, staff, and parents effectively. - Knowledge of safeguarding practices and a commitment to the welfare of children.. - Willingness to undergo an Enhanced DBS check if not already on the Update Service.
