Job Title: Teaching Assistant Location: Frome, Somerset Contract: Full Time Pay: £90 per day PAYE Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join a supportive team in Frome, Somerset. As a specialist in Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, you will play a vital role in enhancing the educational experiences of our students with additional needs. Key Responsibilities: - Assist in the provision of high-quality learning support to students with varied SEND requirements. - Work closely with the lead teacher to implement individualized education plans (IEPs), ensuring that each student's learning goals are met. - Engage in one-to-one or small group activities to reinforce learning concepts and provide personalized attention. - Monitor and record students' progress, reporting any concerns to the lead teacher and adapting strategies as necessary. - Facilitate an inclusive and accepting classroom environment that encourages student participation and confidence building. - Utilize a range of communication methods and educational tools to cater to diverse learning styles and needs. - Manage behavioural challenges with patience, understanding, and effective strategies to promote a positive learning atmosphere. - Collaborate with other educational professionals, such as speech and language therapists or educational psychologists, to support the well-being and development of students with SEND. - Attend meetings and participate in professional development opportunities to remain current on best practices in SEND education. - Contribute to the preparation of teaching materials, classroom setup, and administrative tasks as required. Requirements: - Prior experience working with children with special needs in an educational setting is highly desirable. - A compassionate and patient approach to supporting children with varying educational requirements. - Strong communication and interpersonal skills to liaise effectively with staff, students, and parents. - Ability to work flexibly and adapt to the changing needs of students. - A proactive and resourceful nature with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. - A commitment to continuous professional learning and development in the field of SEND. - A full driver's license is essential due to the location of the school.
