Job Title: Teaching Assistant
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate full-time SEND Teaching Assistant to join an all-through special needs school in Hungerford, starting January 2025. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of children with special educational needs and disabilities, including those with SEMH needs, ASD, complex needs and challenging behaviour. The role involves providing tailored support to pupils, assisting with personal care in some of the younger classes and helping children with challenging behaviour to navigate their learning and development. Building positive and trusting relationships with students is at the heart of this role. You will work closely with teachers and staff to foster an inclusive and nurturing learning environment. While qualifications are not required, we are looking for someone with either personal or professional experience supporting children with SEND or challenging behaviour. A good command of English is essential for effective communication and the ideal candidate will have a caring and patient nature, as well as a willingness to take on personal care responsibilities when needed. The position runs from 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday to Friday, with a daily rate of £83.40, which increases after 12 weeks. There is also potential for permanent employment with the school. This is a chance to work in a supportive and rewarding environment where you can make a real difference and receive ongoing opportunities for personal and professional growth. If you are passionate about helping children overcome barriers to learning and to thrive, we encourage you to apply. Please send your CV and a brief cover letter detailing your relevant experience and enthusiasm for working in SEND education.
