Location: SEND Primary School, Greenford Position: Full-Time SEN Teaching Assistant Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:45am - 3:45pm Start Date: ASAP Commitment: Full academic year Axcis is seeking a compassionate and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join the team at a vibrant SEND Primary School in Greenford. This well-resourced school supports 148 pupils with a range of special educational needs, offering a nurturing environment for children with general developmental delay (GDD), visual and hearing impairments, and autism spectrum disorder (ASD). The ideal candidate will be hands-on, engaging with all children and providing the support they need to thrive. Key Responsibilities: -Support small classes of around 8 pupils, working alongside one teacher and three teaching assistants. -Assist children with GDD and sensory needs, including supporting those requiring moving and handling (hoisting). -Help to de-escalate situations for both verbal and non-verbal pupils, ensuring their emotional well-being. -Utilise communication methods such as PECS and Makaton to enhance engagement and understanding. -Be comfortable providing personal care, including toileting and hygiene support, as part of your role.
