Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant (1:1 ASD Support) Location: Hillingdon, Uxbridge Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:30 AM - 4:00 PM Contract: Full-time, with potential for a permanent role Job Description: Axcis Education is recruiting an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant for a mainstream primary school in Hillingdon, Uxbridge. This full-time position focuses on providing 1:1 support for a Year 1 student with Autism. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children with Autism in an educational setting and be comfortable managing challenging behaviour. The school is looking for someone who is firm yet fair, able to set clear boundaries while maintaining a nurturing and supportive learning environment. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to make a positive impact on a student's educational journey. The school is well-regarded and conveniently located near Hillingdon Station, with the potential for a permanent position after the first year. Key Responsibilities: -Provide 1:1 support to a Year 1 student with ASD in the classroom. -Manage challenging behaviour by setting clear boundaries while fostering a calm, supportive environment. -Collaborate with the class teacher to implement personalised learning strategies tailored to the student’s needs. -Build strong, positive relationships with the student, staff, and parents. -Support the student's social, emotional, and academic development, encouraging positive behaviour and active engagement. Requirements: -Enhanced DBS on the update service. -Proven experience working with children with ASD and ADHD in a mainstream school. -Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to handle challenging behaviour. -Experience with SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) needs is highly desirable. -Excellent communication skills, with a patient and proactive approach. -Full-time availability, Monday to Friday, 08:30 AM - 4:00 PM, for at least the full academic year.
