Teaching Assistant – Special Needs School
Location: Wimbledon, Southwest London
Hours: Full-time, 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM
Contract: Long-term | Start Date: Immediate
Are you passionate about supporting children with special educational needs? We’re looking for a compassionate and committed Teaching Assistant to join a specialist day and residential school for pupils aged 2–19 with Vision Impairment, Hearing Impairment, and Multi-Sensory Impairments.
The Role
As a Teaching Assistant, you will:
– Provide in-class support and engage students in sensory-based activities
– Assist with personalised learning and communication strategies
– Collaborate with teachers and therapists to deliver tailored educational plans
– Encourage independence, confidence, and positive development
– Help maintain a nurturing and inclusive learning environment
About You
We’re looking for someone who is:
– Passionate about supporting children with special needs (experience preferred but not required)
– Patient, adaptable, and caring in their approach
– A team player with strong communication and collaboration skills
– Open to learning and using sensory-focused teaching techniques
