Teaching Assistant – ASC Provision (Mainstream Primary) Location: Bournemouth Start Date: September 2025 Salary: £90–£95 per day Contract Type: Full-Time (Term Time Only) School Type: 3-Form Entry First School Are you a passionate and experienced Teaching Assistant with a strong background in supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)? We are looking for a dedicated TA to join a thriving mainstream primary (first) school in Bournemouth this September, working full-time within our specialist ASC provision. This exciting role is based in a purpose-built SEND unit within the mainstream setting, supporting a small group of non-verbal pupils with complex communication needs. The ideal candidate will be patient, enthusiastic, and proactive, with a genuine passion for inclusion and supporting children with additional needs. About the Role: You will be working as part of a skilled and supportive SEND team, delivering individualised and small-group support to pupils with ASC. Many of the children are non-verbal, so experience or familiarity with alternative communication methods such as PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System) and Makaton is highly desirable. The successful candidate will play a key role in promoting communication, emotional regulation, social interaction, and access to learning in a nurturing environment.
