Salary: £90 - £95 per day
Axcis Education is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant for a full-time position within a vibrant educational setting located in Martock, Somerset. This is an excellent opportunity for a caring individual who is passionate about supporting the needs of students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs.
Job Role:
As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teaching staff to create a nurturing environment that fosters the behavioural, emotional, academic, and social development of students. Your responsibility will include:
- Assisting in the delivery of tailored educational programs developed for each student's individual needs.
- Providing emotional support and establishing trust with students, helping them develop the confidence to engage both in academics and social scenarios.
- Implementing behavioural management techniques under the direction of the lead teacher and contributing to creating a safe and welcoming learning environment.
- Aiding students in understanding and completing assignments and encouraging their participation in classroom activities.
- Collaborating with teachers, parents, and other educational professionals to discuss students' progress and to contribute to their individual learning plans.
- Observing and reporting on students' performance, behavior, social development, and health.
Requirements:
- Experience in supporting children or young people, particularly those with SEMH needs, is highly desirable.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to develop positive relationships with students.
- Relevant Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent professional experience in the educational field.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
