Job Title: Teaching Assistant
Are you a caring, hands-on SEN Teaching Assistant looking for your next role in a supportive and inclusive Camden primary school? This brilliant school is seeking a proactive TA to work with pupils with complex needs, including physical disabilities, sensory processing difficulties, and communication challenges. The role starts in September and is a long-term, full-time opportunity.
About the Role:
You’ll be joining a warm and experienced team in a specialist unit within a mainstream primary school. The role involves:
Providing 1:1 and small group support for pupils with additional needs
Assisting with personal care, feeding, and physical support (full training offered)
Supporting pupils with non-verbal communication, using visuals, Makaton or PECS
Helping to deliver sensory-based and therapeutic learning activities
Working collaboratively with teachers, therapists and other staff
What You’ll Need:
Experience working with children with PMLD, physical disabilities, or complex learning needs
Confidence with personal care and manual handling (or willingness to be trained)
A calm, flexible and encouraging attitude
SEN school or care background is a big plus
