Job Title: Teaching Assistant
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Teaching Assistant to support a child with autism and speech and language needs in a mainstream primary school in Wembley. This full-time role is set to begin in September 2025 and offers a fantastic opportunity to make a lasting impact in a child’s educational journey. You will be working on a 1:1 basis, providing consistent, high-quality support across the school day. The school is inclusive, well-resourced, and has a supportive SEND team. Position Details: • Location: Wembley • Start Date: September 2025 • Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 4:00pm (Tuesdays until 4:30pm) • Pay: From £89 per day • Contract: Full-time, term-time only Key Responsibilities: • Provide 1:1 support for a child with autism and speech and language difficulties • Implement strategies set out in the child’s EHCP and liaise closely with the SENCo and external professionals • Assist with in-class learning, adapting resources to meet individual needs • Support the development of communication skills through structured interventions and day-to-day interactions • Encourage positive behaviour and emotional regulation using clear routines and reinforcement • Track progress and contribute to written observations and reports for review meetings • Foster a safe, engaging and inclusive environment where the child can thrive socially and academically Essential Requirements: • Minimum of an A Level qualification (or equivalent) • Experience working in a UK primary school setting • Strong understanding of autism and speech and language strategies • Patience, consistency and a calm, nurturing approach • Excellent communication and teamwork skills This is an ideal opportunity for someone looking to build their SEND experience in a rewarding and supportive setting.
